two songs by Russell Hoke off his album Cosmic Outlaw

Before there was freak folk, there was San Antonio native, Russell Hoke. Cosmic Outlaw is one of many LPs Hoke self produced during the 80s and 90s. These things have ended up in record shops from Chicago to San Francisco, though nobody is quite sure how. We know Hoke from the street, where he used to play bagpipes. He made pretty good money doing this in Texas and elsewhere. He is also a prolific poet, though not one of those “beret wearing, playing the game” types. To check out Hoke’s other recordings, visit Dusty Groove America or Norman Records.
