Stephen Policoff’s first novel, Beautiful Somewhere Else, won the James Jones First Novel Award and was published by Carroll & Graf in 2004. His essay, “Music Today?” recently won the Fish Short Memoir Prize and will be published in July 2012. His essays and fiction have appeared in The Rumpus, Opium, Provincetown Arts, and many other publications. He teaches writing in Global Liberal Studies at NYU. He has recently completed his second novel, from which “Edges” is excerpted.
